Videographer

We are looking for a videographer to join our integrated PR and communications firm specializing in commercial real estate, placemaking and development. Our videographer will collaborate with our team and clients to produce, shoot, edit, convert, and upload content to a variety of digital platforms, creating videos of multiple lengths and varying focuses and usages for our clients. This position will strategize shot lists, write scripts, and interview questions, and develop graphics, titles, descriptions, closed captioning and tags for both photos and videos. A successful candidate will provide expert insight to develop and refine in-house capabilities for production and post-production to include video filming, live broadcasting, podcasting, editing, animation, basic color, basic visual effects, and sound recording.


Job Responsibilities

Be a one-person band in their field, while working within a collaborative team to:

  • Drive video projects from pre-production through post-production to achieve compelling content while incorporating client tone and messaging
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to conceptualize video ideas and strategies as part of integrated communications plans
  • Take ownership for pre-production, shooting, and assisting in production and post-production, editing from scratch, relying on creative instincts and industry best-practices
  • Script, plan and conduct filmed interviews, including setting up and tearing down cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones, and props on each shoot
    • Determine what type of equipment to use on each shoot
    • Clean and disassemble hardware
    • Calibrate and maintain equipment
    • Perform small repairs on broken equipment as needed
  • Select and implement special visual effects, music, and special audio for each video shoot
  • Convert outsourced videos to the proper format for different marketing channels
  • Work with our Creative Director and collaborate with the team to create a final video product for multiple usages and formats including: social media, website, marketing, news packages, newsletters, etc. 
  • Work with team members and clients to evaluate what’s working and what’s not, and develops ongoing plans to exceed stakeholder and audience needs
  • Preparing background film or “B” rolls as well as live feed
  • Inserting closed captioning, graphics, or other on-screen text into a video
    • Adding computer graphics and special effects to a video
  • Organize shot footage for post-production archives

Required Equipment

  • Camera, lenses, lighting, microphones, and sound equipment
    • SideCar does have additional equipment to build out your professional set.

We’d like for you to have:

  • Relevant degree such asBachelor’s or Associate Degree in Communications, Video Production, Film, Journalism, Editing, Video, Photography, Cinematography, Television
  • Certification: BLS, AHA, FAA, CRF
  • Knowledge and mastery of:
    • Lighting
    • Post-production
    • Microsoft Office
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Adobe Premiere
    • Apple Final Cut Pro X
  • A proven track record of creatively developing content for multiple projects and communication channels
  • A genuine passion for placemaking and the power of the built environment 
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and motivation to thrive in a deadline-driven environment 
  • The ability to learn from and share with others
  • Impressive portfolio of past work in the role of producer, director, and/or editor
  • Ability to work quickly to produce quality results
  • Strong initiative and motivation to constantly experiment and improve upon each project
  • Self-motivator who can generate ideas for projects independently and collaboratively, and communicate those ideas effectively to the team while working under tight deadlines

We’ll Include:

  • Salary range $70,000-$85,000, depending on experience
