& Approach

The Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust is a statewide nonprofit that works with ranching and farming families to conserve agricultural land while keeping it productive and privately owned. As CCALT approached its 30th anniversary, the organization needed a way to explain its model to broader audiences and support fundraising outside traditional agriculture.

SideCar Public Relations built and launched Forever Colorado as a campaign framework to meet that need. We conducted a comparative analysis of peer land trusts to identify CCALT’s differentiator, then developed a unified messaging system centered on working lands, landowner autonomy, and long-term stewardship. The messaging was reviewed and approved by the board, and then implemented across leadership communications, fundraising and public outreach.

To bring the messaging to life, we developed a narrative-driven video and photography campaign that centered the voices of land trust participants. Our team traveled across Colorado to document family-owned ranches and farms, capturing authentic stories of stewardship and legacy. This content anchored social media and seasonal giving efforts tied to Colorado Gives Day and the National Western Stock Show. The work established a repeatable campaign framework and a durable library of assets CCALT now leverages for donor outreach, sponsor engagement, and future fundraising initiatives.
