SideCar PR is excited to announce the launch of our internship program, SideCarRIDE, which gives aspiring public relations professionals a chance to learn the communication ropes the SideCar way, making great connections and gaining valuable experience along the way.

The inaugural crew of SideCarRIDE interns includes three bright young communicators to our team.

  • Emily Mathern joined our Austin office after moving there from Boulder following her graduation from the University of Colorado. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications and is a native of Fort Collins. She assists the team with media planning, content creation and market research. Aside from work, you can find her exploring her new city, on a patio or soaking up the Texas sun.
  • Haley Henning also comes to SideCar from the University of Colorado, where she will graduate in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications with an emphasis in public relations. She brings an interest in both public relations and real estate and is interested in developing creative strategies and solutions for clients. Outside of the office, the Fort Collins native likes to get to the mountains for hiking, skiing or camping and enjoys cooking and 35 mm photography.
  • Representing Colorado State University is Shane Healey, originally from Orange County, California. Shane graduated from CSU in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a focus in technical science communication. His ability to distill complex subjects comes in handy in his SideCar work supporting content creation and with media outreach. Another avid outdoor-lover, Shane likes to ski, snowboard and hit up music shows in Denver.

Emily, Haley and Shane will be with the SideCar team for six months, deepening their knowledge and growing their insight into the communications profession. We’re proud to offer a path forward for the next generation of communications professionals and give them the foundational skills they need to make a difference in our industry.
