An inspired combination of drive, intelligence and personality, Sarah Cullen leads those around her with grit and grace. When she founded SideCar PR in 2011. Sarah was determined to operate the company differently, standing on three key business tenets: specialization, service consolidation and streamlined methodology.
Following the Great Recession, she saw an opportunity for a communications firm that could provide smarter counsel and more comprehensive services with greater efficiency. Drawing on an interest Denver’s rapidly changing built environment, she developed a specialization in commercial real estate. She went all-in (Sarah never does anything halfway), getting to know the industry inside and out, and building incredible relationships along the way with some of the most influential CRE stakeholders in Denver and the media who cover them.
Around her, she built a talented multidisciplinary team to address the entire spectrum of public relations and visual communications needs for SideCar PR’s clients, knowing that the results would be more powerful when the various elements worked in concert. Today, you won’t find another firm with SideCar PR’s depth of knowledge or relationships anywhere else in the region.
Beyond her industry expertise, the key to Sarah’s success is her innate ability to connect. She connects with our clients because she knows firsthand what it means to be a business owner – the highs and lows, the worries that keep founders up at night – and she uses that understanding to ensure SideCar PR is delivering results that matter to their bottom line. And she is constantly connecting people with the individuals and organizations that can help them grow and achieve their goals. Over time, she has created a powerful network of community-builders and place-makers across the West who trust and value SideCar PR.
Sarah’s passion for connection extends to her work in the community. She is an active sponsor of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s CityBuild program, serves on the Special Education Advisory Committee for Jeffco Public Schools, as well as a member of the Public Relations Society of American Colorado Chapter. Sarah has served on multiple committees and boards, including Commons on Champa’s Women on the Rise program, Denver Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Colorado State University’s Green and Gold Foundation, Mothers Advocating Affordable Housing, Think360 Arts and Urban Peak’s Urban Nights.
Prior to founding SideCar PR, Sarah spent seven years with JohnstonWells Public Relations, working on accounts in the real estate, nonprofit, telecommunications, retail and healthcare industries. She gained valuable experience serving clients in all capacities and developing effective public relations strategies for a variety of audiences.
Sarah graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and a concentration in media relations. When she’s not taking care of her clients or family, you can find her riding the trails on her horse or creating a new dish for friends and family to enjoy!
